The Sweetie Mine

             The Sweetie Mine

In a land far away down near Chester

Was a miner whos teeth were but gums

He worked in a place digging alsorts of treats

The kind that are nice for your tums

His partner for years was a wrapper

The papers were golden and bright

Sitting one day eating breakfast

Inside his head switched a light

There's money be made from these sweeties

The adult and children would love

So they opened a shop in the high street

It were fifty three feet up above

First it was chocolate then toffee's

The people were queuing for miles

The workers in mines they were tired

But the money were stacking in piles

Everything dug up was selling

They were working the fingers to bone

Till the mine and shop they were empty

So they packed up their bags

And went home
